Shell Bullets (DNB Demo Loop)

"Pretty neat, doesnt loop well though"

date: June 28, 2008

Bass has way to much........"mid" bass, try and concentrate all the bass lower, because the high frequencies in the bass are seeping into the rest of the highs, like the hihats and snares.

Try putting a high-pass(low pass? Whichever one CUTS out the high frequencies) on the bass, then cut the highs from 200-300hz and everything above and it should sound better.

oh and put either a triangle or sine into the bass and put it all in the same bass channel, oh and ALWAYS have the bass (and the kick!) in MONO.

Hurray!

'Bout time you made some real drumnbass to show NG whats up Paragon.

Phat stuff, please make more N***AAAA.

Check out www.myspace.com/djreese

that guy's awesome, he takes phat beats and bass and throws amazing melodies over them.

Still, this is phat, I love the dark sound to it. And for once its REAL drumnbass :D

Mortal Kombat Theme (d&b) WIP

"An original beat would be nice :("

date: May 3, 2008

You just took a sampled amen break loop and well it sounds terrible, you could at least throw some distortion on it to make it louder and harder or something, make it louder too. Your acid should drop an octave too, it sounds weak how it is.

Just feedback.

Sounds so happy!!!!!! usually major stuff simply does not appeal to me, but you used nice notes in this.

Nice beats too, but your kick has to be harder/louder than your bass in order for it to sink through.

Btw im gonna try those tom rolls looooooooool, sounds great

"This is nice"

It makes me move.

Nice drum patterns, did you make them yourself? Because if you did, it sounds like you can play the drums lol. Bass is really nice btw.

"LOL"

submission: BashBreaks

I feel so weird listening to this song, its like I can't catch the beat.

I'd say thats a bad thing, but since this is considered a genre lol, I guess its all good.

I thought breakcore was alot more glitchy and skippy sounding?

May 8, 2008

Author's Response:

The 'genre' breakcore doesnt have any rules, thats the great thing about it.
Its most common that the beat cant be followed, you have to listen to the melodies instead and the bass of the 'beat' will hit the right notes once in a while.
Thanks for the review anyway.

"This is slow drum and bass, and very good too."

tap your foot to the beat, 1-2-3-4, its about..... 169 bpm, thats not slow, thats the speed of a normal drumnbass track, or around there. He used the drums in a conservative way that makes it sound slow.

Nice track though Oscillist, just wish it had really hard bass or blew up into something crazy you know? it just sounds like it has to.

lol man i love that piano near the end :( its too good.

May 3, 2008

Author's Response:

Yep, it's at 175BPM, traditional DnB drum sequence with undistorted bass. It's some sort of DnB :P
I would indeed liked to have built it up into a hard, bone-crushing Spor counterpart, but I'm lacking serious knowledge in the sampling/resampling/synth department of dark Drum & Bass. I've attempted it but it just sounds far too amateur to even my own unskilled ears :P I feel if I were to ever produce a dark DnB track I'd be proud of it would have to mimic the sound quality of say, API. I simply can't understand how to achieve that level of quality through soft-synths :/ I definitely need some pointers from artists that really know their way around the genre D: Sorry for that whole story!
Thanks for your review :D

"Rayer's an idiot."

date: April 25, 2008

I could say so much more about him but anyone that knows how hard it is to actually PROPERLY make this kind of music, and at this level of quality and sound quality especially,

would already know what I'd want to say anyway.

:P

"Arp from z3ta+ much?"

date: March 29, 2008

C'mon dude, wtf.

I know its an arp.

Eh... nice drums.

Er....edit: I just fastforwarded to the near end of the track and what I heard was amazing, so now I'm relistening. I dont hate you anymore for using the arp even if it is or isn't an arp, its just a tool to get your tune going ;)
